- (1)The cytology of sputum(small cell carcinoma of lung)
Smear of sputum (Papanicolaou stain high power) The clusters of loosely coherent small cells are seen. The tumor cells have scant cytoplasm. The molding of adjacent nuclei and a line or streak of nuclei (Indian file appearance) is visible.
