Macroscopic findings: Extensive infarction was detected from the right cerebral cortex to the basal ganglia. Infarcted region appeared pale and swollen and the cortex was indistinguishable from the medulla. Dark brown colored hemorrhage was also appreciated in the basal ganglia.
