Gross findings: This is an autopsied case of cardiac rupture followed by acute myocardial infarction. The kidney presents a pale-colored cortex (yellow arrow) and a congestive medulla (yellow dotted lines). These changes show the acute prerenal renal failure caused by abrupt blood supply, which is also referred as “shock kidney”.
