Macroscopic view (left; endoscopic view, right; removed specimen): Laryngeal cancer usually develops as an elevated lesion with ulcer formation. As demonstrated in this case, carcinoma derived from the vocal cord may invade into the upper vocal cord beyond the larynx ventricle, and in such cases is frequently accompanied by lymph node metastases and poor prognosis.
